The singer and actor Justin Timberlake was arrested for drunken driving in the Hamptons.
Timberlake was arrested Tuesday in Sag Harbor and arraigned in Sag Harbor Village Justice Court later in the morning, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office.
Sag Harbor, home to some wealthy New Yorkers in the summer is an upscale beach community on the eastestern end of Long Island.
NPR has contacted Timberlake’s representatives for comment.
The Sag Harbor Police Department said in a statement Tuesday afternoon that an officer stopped Timberlake in a 2025 BMW shortly after 12:30 a.m. Tuesday after he drove through a stop sign without making a full stop and failed to “keep his lane of travel.
“Upon conducting a vehicle stop, it was revealed that Mr. Timberlake was driving a vehicle while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage,” the authorities said in a statement.
Timberlake was arrested and spent the night in jail before being released at around 9:30 a.m.
She added that the 43 year old still has around two more months on his “Forget Tomorrow” world tour -which is in North America. He’s touring in support of his sixth studio album, and first in six years, Everything I Thought It Was, which was released in March.
Just this past Saturday, Timberlake rocked the stage in Miami. The publication reported the rapper is set to perform two shows on Friday and Saturday at the United Center in Chicago, before appearing at Madison Square Garden in New York City next week.
